Notes on Decree

The recruitment of religious preachers by the Ministry of Public Health for deployment within health facilities reflects the further ideological penetration of public services under the Taliban. Embedding clerics in clinical and rehabilitation settings risks undermining professional medical standards, patient confidentiality, and evidence-based care, particularly for vulnerable populations. This practice signals a shift from health provision toward moral and ideological oversight, blurring boundaries between healthcare, coercion, and religious enforcement.
