Taliban begins removing former government teachers in Khost.

Decree Translation

Date: 16/12/1403

8AM, Khost: Local sources in Khost report that the Taliban are dismissing teachers from the Republic era from schools in this province. Sources confirmed to the 8AM Daily on Thursday, 16th Hoot (Persian calendar), that the Taliban are replacing these teachers with graduates of jihadist madrasas.
According to the sources, the Taliban are removing these teachers on charges of trimming their beards and disobeying the group’s principles.

Notes on Decree

The reported dismissal of Republic-era teachers in Khost Province by the Taliban, and their replacement with graduates of jihadist madrasas, reflects the ideological purging of the education system. Removing teachers on grounds such as beard trimming or alleged non-compliance with Taliban principles signals the enforcement of conformity through employment sanctions rather than professional standards. This practice undermines educational quality while using livelihoods and access to teaching as tools of coercion and ideological control.
