Date: 28/04/1404 Sources in Kabul say that the Taliban are also inspecting the security cameras of hospitals for "observing the hijab" in order to continue the process of interrogation, arrest and pressure on citizens. Sources told Hasht-e Subh on Saturday evening, July 19, that the Taliban are announcing through loudspeakers in the streets and alleys that "observe the hijab." Referring to the detention of girls and women in various areas of Dasht-e-Barchi, these sources emphasize that this group even inspects the security cameras of hospitals in order to check the observance of the hijab. The sources also clarified that their immunity and human dignity have been severely violated by the Taliban's Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice. At the same time, an eyewitness to the girls' arrest said: "I went to Resalat Alley today. There were three Ranger cars there. One of them was related to the promotion of virtue, which announced through a loudspeaker to observe the hijab. Two Ranger cars were full of black glass, and they even took the girls who were wearing masks," he said. Earlier, sources confirmed to Hasht-e Subh newspaper that the Taliban had arrested several girls and women in Dasht-e-Barchi and transferred them to an unknown location.
The inspection of hospital security cameras and street-level surveillance to enforce hijab compliance in Kabul reflects the expansion of Taliban moral policing into medical and residential spaces. The use of loudspeakers, vehicle patrols, and video monitoring to identify and detain women transforms healthcare facilities and neighborhoods into sites of coercive control. These practices disproportionately target women and girls, undermine personal autonomy and dignity, and normalize surveillance and arbitrary detention as tools of gender-based repression rather than public order.
