Decree Translation

Date: 15/04/1447 AH
A Convicted Individual Given Discretionary Punishment in Ghazni Province
According to the decision of the Primary Court of Gelan District in Ghazni Province, an individual convicted of moral corruption was subjected to discretionary punishment today, Wednesday (15/4/1447 AH), in a public setting.
The Primary Court had sentenced the offender to one year of imprisonment and 25 lashes as discretionary punishment. This ruling was implemented after being approved by the High Council of the Supreme Court.

Notes on Decree

This entry documents the public implementation of disciplinary punishment (taʿzir) on an individual in Ghazni Province for “moral corruption.” The use of corporal punishment for a broadly defined offense, carried out in a public setting, reflects the enforcement of morality-based restrictions on private conduct and the continued use of punitive measures within a judicial process lacking transparency and clear legal standards.
