Date: 26/10/1403

In the continuation of restrictions on education, the Taliban have closed 16 educational centers in Paktia Province.
Taliban fighters raided training centres in Paktia's Samkani District and closed their doors, sources said Wednesday, January 16. According to sources, the Taliban stormed classrooms while students were studying.
According to sources, nearly 2,500 students, all boys, have been deprived of education. Sources stated that students from Dandpattan, Zazi Aryub and Jani Khel districts were studying alongside students from Samkani district. The Taliban in Paktia have not yet commented on the matter.
This comes as the Taliban also blocked educational centers in Daikundi and Badakhshan provinces yesterday.

Notes on Decree

The Taliban have closed 16 educational centers in Samkani District, Paktia Province, raiding classrooms and halting lessons while students were present. Around 2,500 male students from multiple districts—including Dandpattan, Zazi Aryub, and Jani Khel—have been affected. Although previous closures largely targeted girls’ education, this incident marks a broader suppression of community and aid-supported learning spaces, reflecting the Taliban’s tightening control over all independent education initiatives.
