Local sources report that the Taliban have closed the doors of dozens of educational institutions in Kabul city under the pretext of the presence of girls above grade six. Sources confirm to 8Sobh newspaper that the Taliban began this process on Monday, 13th of Hamal, in the 7th and 10th districts of Kabul and plan to implement this measure across the entire city.
The Taliban have warned the administrators of these educational institutions that they will face legal consequences if they continue their operations.
Earlier, the Ministry of Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice under the Taliban had instructed educational institutions to prevent the entry of girls wearing "hijabs without dark colors."
Saeeda, a 17-year-old, tells the Rukhshana media: "Yesterday, while we were in the Kosar Danesh course, the Taliban violently entered our classroom and insulted and humiliated us girls by forcefully removing us from the class."
Saeeda adds, "When we asked them why they were pulling us out of the class, one Taliban pointed his rifle at us and said, 'Did we not forbid you from coming to these courses? Yet you shamelessly came secretly. You have led society to corruption.'"
