This official directive suspending education for girls beyond grade six across Afghanistan formalizes the Taliban’s nationwide ban on secondary and higher education for females. Issued by cabinet decision and signed by senior education authorities, it mandates compliance by all public and private educational institutions.
It constitutes a grave violation of the right to education and entrenches systemic gender discrimination. This directive not only undermines educational access but also severely limits the future opportunities and societal participation of Afghan women and girls.
