Taliban Arrest a Civil Society Activist in Kunduz
Local sources in Kunduz have confirmed to Amo that Taliban members have arrested Enayatullah Betash, a civil society activist in this province.
According to the sources, the Taliban arrested and tortured this activist today (Tuesday, 30 Dalwa) in front of his wife and children.
The reason for Mr. Betash’s arrest is still unclear.
This entry documents the arrest of a civil society activist in Kunduz by Taliban authorities. The incident reflects a broader pattern of arrests targeting civil society actors since the Taliban’s return to power, often carried out by security authorities without publicly stated legal grounds. Such actions contribute to the constriction of civic space and the use of detention and coercion against individuals engaged in civic or community activities.
