Taliban shoot a civilian man in Parwan Shafaqna, Afghanistan Local sources in Parwan province reported that the Taliban shot dead a young man in the province. According to confirmed information, the incident occurred on Monday, February 24, on Qala-e-Khawaja Road, in Bagram district. The deceased was named Hamed Agha, son of Mohammad Sohail, who had been arrested by the Taliban a week ago on charges of carrying weapons. According to sources, Taliban forces took Hamid Agha to his house yesterday and shot him on the way after searching his house. Sources emphasize that this individual had no affiliation with political or military groups opposed to the Taliban. This is not the first such action in Bagram. In February last year, another young man, Sabawan, was killed by people affiliated with the Taliban's municipality in this district. Desert executions by the Taliban continue in various parts of Afghanistan, raising widespread concerns about human rights violations in the country.
The killing of a civilian man by Taliban forces in Parwan Province reflects the continued use of extrajudicial violence as a method of security enforcement and intimidation. The shooting of the victim following arrest and a house search, without any reported judicial process or legal safeguards, indicates an arbitrary deprivation of life. Such practices undermine basic protections related to liberty, security, and due process, contribute to a climate of fear among civilian populations, and reflect broader patterns of unchecked coercive force by Taliban security actors outside any accountable legal framework.
