On Monday, 6 Hamal (Farvardin), women’s rights activist Leila Basim told Afghanistan's news agency that the Taliban violently dispersed a women's protest in Kabul. “The Taliban group dispersed the women’s protest in Kabul with violence and beatings,” she said.

Basim reported that Raqeya Sayee, Malali Hashemi, and Fatemeh Mohammadi were among the protesters who were detained by Taliban forces and transferred to Security Zone Thirteen. She noted that Raqeya Sayee had previously been detained during a 1401 demonstration demanding the reopening of universities for women, and was released after several days. Basim explained that the purpose of the protest was to demand the removal of restrictions imposed on women by the Taliban. However, the protest was violently suppressed by Taliban members.
