Sources have told Afghanistan International that the Taliban took Ms. Julia Parsi and her child from her home in Kabul. Julia Parsi is among the women who have repeatedly criticized the Taliban's restrictions against women and protested against their strict policies. Julia Parsi is Leader of the Self-Initiated Women's Movement in Afghanistan.

Women's rights activists in Afghanistan have reported that the Taliban's intelligence forces detained Julia Parsi, a well-known women's rights activist, along with her son. Parsi's associates told Voice of America that this women's rights activist was arrested on Thursday, September 27th (Mizan 5th), in the area of Qala-e-Fathullah in Kabul city. According to them, the Taliban first went to Julia Parsi's son's house and forced him to show them the location of his mother. Parsi's associates said that after entering the house of this women's rights activist, the Taliban violently detained her, handcuffed her, and then searched and confiscated all the mobile phones, documents, and records in the house.
