Taliban Intelligence Arrests Four People in Panjshir, Including Two Teachers
Sources in Panjshir report that Taliban intelligence forces have arrested four individuals, including two schoolteachers, in Dara district.
The detainees have been identified as Abdul Waheed Aqif, Mohammad Hasham Hashami, Ahmad Mir, and Mujib. According to sources, Abdul Waheed Aqif and Mohammad Hasham Hashami are teachers at a school in Dara district.
These four individuals were detained yesterday (Sunday, 26 Aqrab) in the Abdullahkhil area of Dara district by Taliban intelligence and were transferred to the provincial center of Panjshir. The reason for their arrest remains unknown.
The Taliban frequently arrest and imprison residents of Panjshir on accusations of having links with opposition forces.
Last week, Taliban intelligence in Kabul also arrested three former military personnel from Panjshir who had recently been deported from Iran.
This case reflects the continued use of arrest and detention by Taliban intelligence authorities in Panjshir Province without publicly disclosed charges or judicial process. The detention of civilians, including teachers, with no stated legal basis reinforces patterns of arbitrary arrest and collective suspicion in areas associated with opposition activity. The absence of transparency regarding grounds for detention or access to safeguards aligns with broader practices of preventive and retaliatory detention in Panjshir.
