Decree

The closure of four medical dental centers managed by female doctors in Ghazni.

Decree Translation

Local sources in Ghazni province have reported the closure of four private dental clinics in the area. On Wednesday, 22 of February, sources stated that the member of ministry for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice in Ghazni closed the four dental clinics, which were managed by female doctors. The clinics were located in the center and the Nawabad area on the outskirts of Ghazni city. The Taliban cited the treatment of male patients by female doctors as the reason for the closure. Sources also mentioned that the Ministry of Virtue and Vice officials warned the owners of these clinics to keep them closed for two weeks, and if they continue treating male patients after that period, their operating licenses would be revoked. Notes on Decree

The closure of female-run dental clinics in Ghazni underscores how the Taliban’s enforcement of gender segregation is not only limiting women’s right to work but also shrinking access to essential health services. In a country already facing severe healthcare shortages, such actions reflect a broader strategy of prioritizing ideological control over public well-being.
