Decree Translation

Date: 19/11/1401 The Supreme Court of the Taliban, through a press release on its official website, has announced that based on the decision of the Appeals Court of Ghor Province and the confirmation of the Taliban's Supreme Court, punishments by lashing have been administered to more than 3 individuals on charges of moral corruption and alcohol production. This verdict was executed publicly with the participation of Taliban leadership officials in the province.

Notes on Decree

The Taliban Supreme Court’s confirmation of public lashings in Ghor for “moral corruption” and alcohol production illustrates continued reliance on corporal punishment in violation of international human rights standards. These public executions of justice—carried out with leadership present—signal normalization of cruel treatment, often without transparent legal processes or safeguards.
