Implementation of Discretionary Criminal Sentences for Five Convicted Persons and Defendants in Ghazni Province
Based on the rulings of the Primary Courts of Jaghori and Ab Band districts of Ghazni Province, discretionary criminal sentences (taʿzir) were carried out today, Sunday, 20/11/1446 AH, against two individuals accused of consuming alcohol and three others—including one woman—convicted of unlawful relations and moral corruption.
The Primary Courts had sentenced the two defendants to two years and six months of imprisonment each, along with 35 lashes each; one convict to five years of imprisonment and 39 lashes; a second convict to three years of imprisonment and 19 lashes; and a third convict to three years of imprisonment and 39 lashes as discretionary punishment.
These rulings were implemented upon approval by the High Authority of the Supreme Court and were executed in the presence of local residents.
