Implementation of Discretionary Punishment Against Two Convicted Individuals and One Defendant in Takhar Province
Based on the ruling of the Primary Court of Yangi Qala District in Takhar Province, discretionary punishments (taʿzir) were carried out today, Thursday, 24/11/1446 AH, against two individuals—including one woman—convicted of unlawful relations, and one individual accused of theft.
The Primary Court had sentenced the two convicts to two years of imprisonment each and 39 lashes each, while the defendant was sentenced to 39 lashes as discretionary punishment. These rulings were implemented after being approved by the High Authority of the Supreme Court.
This entry documents the implementation of discretionary criminal punishments (taʿzir) in Yangi Qala District of Takhar Province following a ruling by a Taliban primary court. Individuals accused of unlawful relations and theft were subjected to corporal punishment, with two also receiving custodial sentences. The punishments were carried out after approval by the Supreme Court authority.
