Decree

Taliban gang rape and sexual torture of a woman in a Taliban prison.

Decree Translation

Date: 13/04/1403 A women's rights activist from Afghanistan alleges that she was sexually assaulted in a Taliban prison. The Taliban filmed the assault and later sent her the video, threatening to make it public if she continued to speak out against them.

Rokhsana Media and The Guardian have seen a video of a female protester from Afghanistan who was subjected to gang rape and torture by armed men in a Taliban prison.
Reports of sexual violence against women and girls in detention facilities have been published, but this video is the first direct evidence of such crimes.
According to the victim, these videos were recorded on a mobile phone and later sent to her as a threat. If she continues her critical activities against the Taliban regime, the videos will be shared.
In the recorded footage viewed by Rokhsana Media and The Guardian, a young woman in prison is filmed. She is told to undress and then repeatedly sexually assaulted by several men.
In another video recorded by one of the armed men with a phone, the woman tries to cover her face with her hands, but one of the men hits her and forces her to look at the camera.

Notes on Decree

The woman stated that she was detained by the Taliban on charges of participating in a public protest against them. During her imprisonment, she was raped by Taliban members.

After her release, she fled Afghanistan but continued to protest against the Taliban even after leaving the country. Following her continued criticism, she received a video along with a threat: if she persisted in her opposition to the Taliban regime, the video would be sent to her family and released on social media.

She recounted, "They said if you keep speaking out and saying anything negative about the Islamic Emirate, we will publish your video." She believes the video was deliberately recorded to silence and exert further pressure on her.

In the video, armed Taliban members forced the woman to stand naked, her face clearly visible, while they filmed her. During the assault, she was physically beaten and subjected to verbal abuse.
