Taliban Arrest Six People in Panjshir, Including Two Teachers
Local sources in Panjshir report that the Taliban have arrested six individuals—including two teachers—on charges of involvement in an explosion targeting a Taliban base in Dara district.
According to the sources, these individuals were detained yesterday (Monday, 16 Mizan) by Taliban military units in the Abdullahkhil Valley of the Dara district.
The detainees have been identified as Mujib, Safdar, Mir Agha, Bulbul Shah, Waheed, and Hameed.
Based on information from the sources, Mujib and Safdar are schoolteachers, Bulbul Shah is a former soldier, and Mir Agha, Waheed, and Hameed are civilians.
Sources state that these individuals have no connection with Taliban opponents and that they were arrested without any wrongdoing.
On Friday night, a Taliban base in Panjshir’s Dara district witnessed an explosion followed by gunfire.
The National Resistance Front of Afghanistan (NRF) claimed responsibility the following day, stating that 13 Taliban members were killed and two others wounded in the attack.
Taliban offices in Panjshir, however, issued conflicting statements regarding the incident.
The Taliban police command said the explosion occurred in a guesthouse and was caused by a gas cylinder blast, resulting in six injuries.
By contrast, the Taliban governor’s office stated that newly arrived fighters were conducting weapons tests, and the gunfire heard was due to those tests.
Local sources told Etilaatroz that after the explosion, gunfire continued for about ten minutes.
At the time, sources also told Etilaatroz that the Taliban arrested around ten local residents following the incident.
Taliban local authorities in Panjshir have not yet commented on these arrests.

Notes on Decree

This reflects the use of mass arrest and preventive detention by Taliban security forces following a security incident, in the absence of publicly disclosed evidence or judicial process. The detention of civilians, including teachers, after conflicting official explanations of the incident suggests reliance on collective suspicion rather than individualized accountability. The lack of transparency regarding charges, warrants, or access to legal safeguards reinforces patterns of arbitrary arrest and detention in conflict-affected areas
