The Implementation of a Disciplinary Punishment on a Convicted Individual in Kapisa Province
In accordance with the decision of the Primary Court of Kohistan District, Kapisa Province, a disciplinary punishment was enforced on an individual convicted of engaging in illicit relations and moral corruption. The punishment was carried out on 28/04/1447 AH.
The Primary Court had sentenced the offender to 39 lashes as a disciplinary penalty. This ruling, after being confirmed by the esteemed Supreme Court, was executed in the presence of Honorable Mawlawi Azizurrahman (Haqqani), President of the Appellate Court, judges of the appellate and civil courts, and officials of the Emirate’s institutions.
This entry documents the public implementation of disciplinary punishment (taʿzir) on an individual in Kapisa Province for illicit relations and “moral corruption.” The use of corporal punishment for broadly defined morality-based offenses reflects the regulation of private conduct through punitive measures, alongside the continued use of such punishments as a mechanism of deterrence within the Taliban’s judicial system.
