Seventeen Convicted Individuals Given Discretionary Punishment by the Kabul Province Primary Court for the Prevention of Narcotics and Intoxicants.
According to the decision of the Kabul Province Primary Court for the Prevention of Narcotics and Intoxicants, seventeen (17) convicted individuals were subjected to discretionary punishment on 14/5/1447 AH for crimes related to the sale and trafficking of narcotic tablets (Zikap and Tablet K), alcoholic beverages, and cannabis.
The Primary Court had sentenced the offenders to terms of imprisonment ranging from seven months to three years and six months, in addition to 10 to 39 lashes as discretionary punishment. This ruling was implemented after being approved by the High Council of the Supreme Court.
This entry documents the implementation of disciplinary punishments (taʿzir) on seventeen individuals in Kabul Province for drug- and alcohol-related offenses. The imposition of corporal punishment alongside imprisonment reflects the continued use of punitive measures within a judicial system characterized by limited due process safeguards.
