Implementation of a Discretionary Punishment Order on an Offender in Ghor Province
Based on the decision of the Primary Court of Saghar District in Ghor Province, a discretionary criminal punishment (ta‘zīr) was carried out publicly on 20/5/1447 AH against an individual convicted of moral corruption.
The Primary Court had sentenced the offender to 39 lashes as a discretionary punishment. This ruling was implemented after being approved by the High Authority of the Supreme Court.
This entry documents the public implementation of disciplinary punishment (taʿzir) on an individual in Ghor Province for “moral corruption.” The use of corporal punishment for a broadly defined morality-based offense, carried out in a public setting, reflects the regulation of private conduct through punitive measures within a judicial system characterized by limited due process safeguards.
