Afghanistan Freedom Front: Taliban Have Once Again Arrested Women in Kabul
8AM, Kabul: The Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF) reports that the Taliban have once again carried out arbitrary and mass arrests of women in Kabul.
In a statement issued on Friday, 27 Saratan, the Freedom Front warned that the arrest and abduction of women is neither justifiable nor tolerable.
The group emphasized that this action by the Taliban constitutes a clear violation of women’s human rights and an insult to their human dignity.
The Freedom Front further warned that, from now on, Taliban morality police officers will be considered legitimate targets of the AFF’s attacks.
The group also urged the public to avoid approaching Taliban bases and vehicles.
This comes after reports surfaced yesterday indicating that the Taliban had arrested several girls in the Shahr-e-Naw area of Kabul.
So far, it remains unclear how many women and girls the Taliban have detained or for what reason.
The Taliban have previously arrested women and girls en masse in various parts of Kabul and transferred them to security detention centers.
This entry documents reports of mass arrests of women and girls in Kabul allegedly carried out by Taliban authorities. According to statements cited in the report, several women were detained in the Shahr-e-Naw area, though the precise number of detainees and the reasons for their arrest remain unclear. The arrests are described as part of a pattern of detentions targeting women in public spaces in Kabul and their transfer to security detention facilities. The incident reflects concerns about arbitrary detention and the enforcement of restrictions on women’s presence in public life.
